After several years of 'counting the cost,' the plane tickets are purchased, and we will be leaving California on June 10, headed for the Dominican Republic.  As we attempt to downsize our household to two suitcases each, we become painfully aware of how much “stuff” we have acquired over the years.  The Dominican Republic is located in the Caribbean Sea, in between the islands of Jamaica and Puerto Rico.  The DR shares the island of Hispanola with it's neighbor, Haiti.
The Branch in Dominican Republic has invited us to support the recently formed Jarabacoa Haitian Kreyol congregation.  The “DR” is predominantly Spanish speaking, but also contains more than 2,000,000 Haitian refugees and immigrants.  A little more than three years ago there were no Kreyol congregations in Dominican Republic, now they have three entire Haitian-Kreyol circuits.
